It's always nice to put on some bling!

So my friend Jen and I went to a benefit, put on by Second Harvest, last night. It was interesting and fun!!!! The food was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! Several popular restaurants from around the city of Toronto, sent their chefs to prepare little tasties for the guests. WONDERFUL food!!! I don't think that I have a favorite, but there were some really kewl ethnic concoctions and then the chocolate...oh my gosh!!!!!!!

Lots of great Ontario wineries also participated, like Malivoire, who had an excellent selection of wines and Southbrook, who had a particularly fabulous Raspberry dessert wine that even my friend who doesn't drink, enjoyed!

It was a great experience, but the best part was shedding my "Mom" uniform and donning a funky pair of heels and some "bling"! I always feel so great when I get to be a girl again and teeter around in shoes that make my feet hurt!!!

To end my details of last night, I have to describe the washrooms. Located at Downsview park, there were no washrooms within the facility. So they hired some lovely Jonny-on-the-spots for the evening. We actually had to exit the building and walk across the parking lot to where these port-a-potties were situated. These were trailers, sufficient in number, but the vertigo you experienced while sitting in these things was rather dissettling! Picture yourself, teetering over the john, balanced so as to not touch anything, purse in one hand and your dress in the other........and someone enters the 6x10 trailer.....walks up 3 steps and sends the trailer into a gently rocking motion. You are inches away from the person using the stall behind you and only a little farther from the growning lineup outside your cubicle door. It's a wonder that there weren't more accidents within these small compartments! I was anxious to leave and discontinued my water consumption for the rest of the evening!

I'm sure the organization is receiving some interesting feedback regarding their facility selections. I wouldn't at all be surprised to see it at a venue with indoor plumbing next year!

LOL!! You sure have the gift for description, girlfriend! I could almost picture you trying to balance on your high heels, purse strap around your neck, worrying about touching the seat!!!

Wow port-o-potties with a upscale thing like that.
I so need to get in some more of these kind of nights. I guess I'll just have to live through you for now.
