I just got my birthday pressie....a little late but none-the-less.......a new 75-300 zoom lens!!!!!! woooooohooooooo!!!! How exciting for me to be able to capture those 'moments' without running up into people's faces! I've played a little but this thing is a beast!!! It's like carrying 2 cameras now!
I also picked up a little tiny...and I mean little tiny.....remote control...so, no more running into the family photo at the last minute!! I can't tell you how many times I end up flat on my hiney because I rushed to get into the picture. I've stepped on fingers and kneed my poor kids.....I'm very excited to try this this weekend.
Yes, this weekend. I will actually get some pictures of the FAM this weekend......for sure.....I hope. With any luck.....ie: no really bad colds or major events happening.....I will get my family photo! I don't even worry any more if the kids get bloodied up right before the shoot! Doesn't stop me! I just work it out after-the-fact in PSE! Thank goodness for Photoshop!

never a good family picture....
I'm working on an altered canvas and I'm trying to decide what picture to use. I want a pic of all of us together as a family where no one's making faces or closing their eyes. Do you know how hard that is to come by? I will probably end up doing a photoshoot this weekend so that I have a picture that is decent, but I'll go through 40 shots or more just trying to get that one GOOD one! With small kids, I know it's completely normal, but man....it's still frustrating.
On the same note, I can never find a good picture of myself. Why, you ask? Because I'm always behind the camera instead of in front of it. Luckily, some friends of mine are FABULOUS photographers and have taken pictures of me on occasion, so I have a few very good photos to choose from. I just have to remember to give them photographical credit.....I always forget that!
That brings me to my last subject. Who gets photographical credit when there's a bunch of girls behind the lense? The person who set up the shoot, the person who's camera it is, or the person who pushes the button. I'm lost on this...... On another note, should these photos then be for the subjects' use if they were given copies of them? I honestly don't know what is fair, and I hate stepping on people's toes. As far as I'm concerned, I will ask for permission to use the photo, even if it has been given to me. I will also list everyone involved in the shoot, just so that no one feels left out. It's important to me that credit be given where credit is due, I just don't know who to give it to if there's many hands on the camera.
thanks for listening!

lost....one mojo.......
I've been on a bit of a hiadus lately with the scrapbooking....I just can't seem to produce anything that I am REALLY happy with......isn't it funny how sometimes your mojo just up and leaves? What is that all about? Is it stress, pressure or just being tapped out of creative juices? It's just about the most frustrating thing that can happen to you creatively. I wonder if the celebs find that too......does Ali end up sitting at her desk and just staring at a picture or a scrap of paper....totally uninspired to do anything with it? On that note, do the big scrappers ever create stuff that they REALLY aren't happy with? Do you think that they ever sit and stare at a half-finished project and really don't like where it's headed? Maybe they continue to pile it up with embellies and other stuff until it's really hideous? Oh, this is making me laugh......I'm sure it happens...it's just really hard to picture.

Where have I been?

Wow! It's been over a month since I started this blog! The time has certainly flown.....I have been busy, and my pet project is up and running. I'm so very excited to be my own business owner and this is certainly right up my alley! I have furiously been working on all of the components like packaging and advertising......it's coming to gether quite nicely now. Some of my product should be arriving any day now too! I am sooooo excited to see the new line! Here's a little snippet of what I've done lately.... there's more to come but I really love the design element! Unfortunately my scrapbooking has taking a backseat but I guess it must while I focus on my venture.
Have a great day!
